Photographing a Mysterious Speakeasy Vacation Rental in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Shanna at Ashby Road Studio has done it again! I was thrilled when she asked me to come and photograph the second completed Airbnb apartment that she created in Colorado Springs (you can see the first one here!). This unit is a stark departure from its light and airy Japandi sister unit. Walking in the front door, you are met with a rich, mysterious, speakeasy vibe that evokes plenty of vintage charm and nostalgia.
As soon as you enter, you are met with an open plan kitchen, dining area, and living room painted a wonderful deep blue color. There are gold accents and small, thoughtful pieces throughout the space, like the perfectly picked tea set and floral fabrics adorning the windows. This leads into the bedroom, which is a warm, inviting, and luxurious room. Shanna chose rich fabrics and created a beautiful gallery wall with antique artwork framed in ornate gold frames, which really pulls the entire space together. Even the bathroom is on-theme, showcasing a playful wallpaper and fun artwork.
This vacation rental really does showcase the best of what’s on offer in Colorado Springs - plush, comfortable furniture, thoughtful design choices, and plenty of kitchen amenities. It’s truly the perfect space to relax and recharge after a long day of sightseeing.
